I've been in the construction industry my whole life , I am 52 with 35 years of work on refurbishment, large site and new build and private extension. All my work is as good as it gets and I always try to source your materials and fittings at trade price. You pay what I pay. All work carried out will have a schedule of work and targets to hit, you will pay in interim payments with the balance at the completion of the works . Any deviation for change of plan will be subject to a negotiable price. So think lo g and hard about what goes where and what spec you want.
